Having never purchased a digital camera at Best Buy, I have slightly off topic story and one from a coworker, since I work at a local camera store - and not a Best Buy!

OT: My friends and I are looking for a variety of random crap. A Best Buy employee walks up to us (stocky, frizzy hair, looks like Seth Rogen from Knocked Up, but younger) "Hey guys! Shooting the sh!t? That's gravy"

In a hilariously awkward moment, we stared at him until he went away.

Coworker: Ok, I naturally admit that stores like mine (I won't say which one) hire employees based on retail experience and not on photography/equipment expertise.

My coworker was talking to a young man about a Nokin D50, explaining why he should buy a dSLR instead of a point and shoot. The guy is looking for a basic point and shoot that costs about 300 - the D50 was 600 at the time, I think.

Having walked back and forth putting newly shipped cameras away, the guy asked for my help when my coworker walked away for some reason.

*Holding it and looking into the LCD screen*
"How do you zoom with this thing?"
Of course, I immediately thought the camera was probably wrong for him, as he wanted something simple.
I showed him and let me coworker coax him into buying a damage plan, SD cards, a member card, and other stuff.

She learned her lesson: He returned the camera to me two days later and asked about the Canon S3.

My coworkers daily total read minus 950.

I had to laugh.
