My old school used to get 2 million pounds a year. I wouldn't call that broke.

It's probably her opinion. Oh, boo hoo, we dont go on enough class trips & we don't get New York strip & escargot for brunch every day, our school must be broke :'(
Apparently she doesn't know that, unless it's a private school, it never had money to begin with, but a budget set by the state, if they need extra badly enough they can hold a hearing or something to get some more, unless it's just a sh*tty inner city school, then they're just screwed.

And I will tell you to go play in traffic. You were also adopted & your *Real* mother doesn't love you. She likes your brother better. Your brother is also your father.

I think technically any organization or company, be it a charity, church, school etc... is considered "broke" because they dont turn a profit.... that being said, I'm surprised no one has bothered to point out that a piddly $10k wouldnt even begin to fund all that building she described... our junior high here built a new gym and it was nearly $5mil

Any time anything is built commercially it costs a load of money, they need permits, surveyors, contractors for the various stages (Foundation is done by some, the steel by others, etc.)

Actually $10,000 would fund one group for a few hours lol, depending on the group. the concrete guys get $10-$15 an hour, steel guys get $15-$20, electricians & plumbers get $20's-$30's, so it really depends on the group, & if they're using Mexicans, who work for a few cents an hour lol.

OK we got $100 to get this job done. Fetch me 40,000 mexicans, pronto! :D
The high school I went to was broke until they built a new one. However I don't know how long that gravy train will last as the whole town is in trouble.

My school is always coming up with new ways to get money, like hosting fetes and making plays and having their own personal X factor.
Oh the joys of high school...
