How for a shy girl to get a man's attention?

Im a 22 year old woman and Im fairly shy when it comes to guys. I guess Im what you call dense about guys. My question is how do I get a specific mans attention? What are some good flirting techniques, and how do I know if he is interested?

If anyone is sweet enough to explain this to me I would really appreciate it. I would love to get some input from the guys also.

Don't worry about flirting, instead make friends and find things to talk about. Us shy guys want things to start off as a friendship anyway.

First of all, ignore this guy, lol. He's just being sarcastic and silly.

Anyhow, I can't put down any flirting technique because flirting can help, yes, but there are times you can get negative attention if you're looking for some from a specific person. I say keep being yourself, don't lose your shyness because that at times is a good quality to have, but you need also to try being more outgoing. You have to try being friends first with a guy really is my best suggestion for a shy person before developing a relationship of any sort. And also, if that guy isn't for you, you at least have him as a friend and he can give you advice for later dating if you want it.

I don't really understand why shy people don't think they've got fans. Flamboyant people do definately get attention but they don't get all of it. Even people who react to them usually do it because it's just easier, it doesn't mean they like them best.
