Changing Text Color in the Chatroom

One of the many features in our chat rooms is colors. In fact, if you've ever been in one of our chat rooms before you've probably seen people change the color of what they're writing. If you wondered how they did that, then you've come to the right place.

There is two steps to writing in colors. First, when in a chat room, you must press Ctrl and K at the same time on your keyboard, so a small box appears in your typing area. Now here's the tricky part, each color is associated with a number, and you need to type the number corresponding to the color you want.

So if you wanted to write, Hi everyone! in red, here's what you would do. Hit Ctrl + K, then type the number 4, then type, Hi everyone! and hit enter.

Here's what you would type: 4Hi everyone!

Here's how it would look: Hi everyone!
Notice that you don't need a space between the 4 and hi.

If you want to go beyond that and add a background color to your text, after your number, simply add a comma, then the number of the color you want for your background. Once again no spaces are needed. For example:

Here's what you would type: 4,0Hi everyone!

Here's how it would look:  Hi everyone!

Adding Color to your Room Greeting

If you have a registered chatroom and want your room greeting colored, all you need to do is type the small color code  (box) into the chatroom but dont hit the enter key, then copy it ... then double click in the middle of your chatroom and a room settings box will pop up. Simply paste the  (box) into the room greeting (aka room welcome message) area and use the numbers for the colors you want and type in for example "Welcome to my Room!". Refer to color instructions above if needed.
